Pernille Lind Studio has been given the rare opportunity to take part in the renovation of one of the most sought after town houses in Copenhagen. The house is situated off one of the roads by the East city lakes, also called kartoffelrækkerne. The houses were built between 1873 - 1889 by the Workers Association, for the working class to have affordable and ‘hygienic’ accommodation in the city center. Originally you weren’t allowed to build on the land for the security and defense of the city, and it was only reserved for potato farming. Therefore with the 11 rows of houses perfectly in line, they were then named ‘the potato houses’.

PLS will be working on the interior design including bespoke kitchen and joinery design, as well as procurement of furniture and lighting.

Complete Autumn 2018.
