AM Office

Commercial

Background

Right behind the Royal Palace Amalienborg, in Copenhagen, lies Amaliegade, our site for this period property which once was a grand apartment, before being turned into a lavish and homely office for our client.

The Brief

The brief was to create a work place which would feel inviting and have some of the same comforts of a home. The property layout and characteristics worked very well for this direction. Furthermore, the new office spaces would be split over two floors where break-out areas, formal and informal meetings rooms, as well as hot desking and private offices needed to be located strategically, for privacy and noise considerations.

Bespoke Design:

We designed bespoke directors’ desks in American walnut, inlayed with chocolate brown leather and brass trims. The open work spaces feature specially designed desks with tapered legs in walnut and brass plinths. Oversize bookcases with brass detailing and chunky bull-nose profile edges become the focal point in the grand boardroom. Unique filing cabinets which were engineered in collaboration with NOVOCASTRIAN, in hand-patinated brass became the key pieces for the offices and shared work spaces.

Bespoke joinery pieces were designed to suit each space and functions required. Unique antique pieces were sourced and specially commissioned art pieces were selected from a local artist.
