INTERIOR DESIGNER

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience leading high-end residential and boutique hospitality/commercial projects, in the UK and abroad. You will play a pivotal role in our studio, leading small scale projects independently while contributing significantly to larger projects under the guidance of senior colleagues. Your responsibilities encompass project management, design execution, client interaction, and team leadership. You will ensure the quality and timely delivery of projects while adhering to company standards and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA in Interior Design or Architecture
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, within residential and commercial interior design
  • Experience working on projects from concept through to completion, including site experience
  • Can deliver full ID drawing packages, including detail drawings
  • Has good working knowledge of interior design phases and RIBA stages
  • Has good knowledge of key relevant UK Building Regulations for both commercial and/or residential interiors
  • Has an in-depth working knowledge of the wider high-end interior design industry in the UK and further afield
  • Can drive and deliver projects, meeting both target deadline and FF&E budget
  • Excellent knowledge of materiality and finishes for both interior architecture, joinery and FF&E
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing routes for bespoke joinery and FF&E
  • Good working knowledge of bespoke manufacturing and production methods, with a reasonable understanding of associated costs
  • Solid experience in sourcing FF&E via specialist dealers and galleries
  • Analytical with impeccable attention to detail, being aware of building and manufacturing constrains and possibilities
  • Desire to take the leading role on projects and delegate to junior team members as necessary
  • Acts as the main point of contact for day-to-day project communications with client teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers on projects
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Indesign, Photoshop and SketchUp and an ability to confidently tutor junior colleagues in these softwares when required
  • Good working relationships with relevant industry suppliers and makers
  • Design flair and aspirations to create unique interiors and environments
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, especially when presenting design solutions
  • Handles challenges proactively, always seeking solutions with the highest level of professionalism
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise the design and deliverables of projects you work on and/or lead
  • Develop creative ideas and acquire key information about the projects, to create project schedules and drawing registers
  • Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, elevations and schemes, using AutoCAD and other computer software
  • Consider materials and costs according to set budgets and review quotes from suppliers
  • Source products for FF&E and decoration items, and provide samples for clients; obtaining costs and coordinating budgets
  • Coordinate with suppliers and have a knowledge of technical details and requirements
  • Supervise work at the design stage and on-site
  • Work with architects and other design professionals to determine the best use of space and design outcome for the project and client
  • Serve as the project anchor, managing communication and delegating tasks effectively
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, delegating tasks and ensuring adherence to company standards
  • Design within company style while balancing client requirements and budgets
  • Produce high-quality design presentations and technical drawings
  • Manage project documentation and information filing system
  • Coordinate with external consultants and oversee project deadlines
  • Assist in project planning, resourcing, and strategic thinking
  • Conduct project snagging and provide aftercare to clients
  • Contribute to FF&E schedules, specifications, and procurement
  • Lead FF&E design presentations, specify items, and ensure compliance
  • Review manufacturer’s shop drawings and integrate with project requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for project communications with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead meetings, take detailed notes, and consult senior colleagues or Director for key decisions
  • Delegate effectively and support the development of junior colleagues

GRADUATE / JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

We are looking for candidates to contribute to the design and delivery of our high-end residential and boutique commercial interior design projects. This role requires a proactive, organised, and ambitious individual with a strong foundation in interior design principles and software skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. You will play a pivotal part in our dynamic studio, where you will work alongside a strong team of designers, delivering designs from concept to completion, on a range of projects in the UK and abroad.

About You

  • BA in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Good knowledge of design styles and periods
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp
  • Ability to produce drawings to a high standard

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and delivery of projects under the guidance of senior colleagues
  • Produce high-quality 2D/3D Photoshop renders for design presentations
  • Compile professional PDF presentations in InDesign
  • Contribute to project deliverables promptly and diligently, following instructions from senior colleagues.
  • Maintain internal CAD libraries and adhere to company drawing and information filing standards
  • Assist in compiling thorough and accurate project FF&E schedules and smaller FF&E design presentations
  • Request key information, drawings, samples, and pricing from suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Assist with FF&E installations and project styling under the leadership of senior colleagues
  • Maintain a good understanding of the company style and standards
  • Assist senior colleagues in issuing/filing information to/from clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • General day to day studio administration – assisting with post and deliveries, making sure the studio is tidy and presentable
  • Support and assist all team members as necessary
