Background

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, atop scenic hills, sits the exclusive Monte Estoril, Portugal.

S:H:E. is an intimate private condominium, of only 11 apartments and 5 villas, tucked away in a quiet tree-lined street of one of the most exclusive and safest neighbourhoods in Europe.

Superb finishes and total privacy, away from urban sound pollution, make this the ideal place to call home. Residences feature incomparably spacious balconies or terraces facing stunning views, and most enjoy private gardens and heated pools or hot tubs.

The Brief

PLS saw this project as a unique opportunity to find the connection between the history of the place, the existing listed heritage building (villa Sarah) and the new architecture. Our brief was to marry the old and the new. Creating a contemporary interior scheme for all 4 Villa types and the public areas, fit for a modern lifestyle for both national and international buyers.

Bespoke Interior Design

We created a unique character description for each villa types, which would make for the foundation of our designs. Villa Patio is the modern and urban dwelling with a cool and earthy undertone of materiality and textures. Villa Emma and Helena are more feminine and elegant in the choice of detailing and materials. Villa Sarah full of traditional detailing and ornamented décor, had the foundation set for us. We therefore respectfully extended this with attention to the classic style and design equally crafted elements, such as the iron shower doors and partitions, a Shaker kitchen with dramatic marbles complemented with rich colours and pastel accents.
