The Clay Yard



Redefining the ways in which we live, work, rest and play – this new development of 106 apartments in the heart of West Hampstead embraces the concept of ‘wellness’ through architecture and design.

The Marketing and Show Apartment has been designed to entice buyers, giving them the chance to experience their life and home within a residential community which offers a modern way of living that focusses on well-being, connection with nature and nurtured relationships with neighbours.

The Brief

We were appointed to work on the interior of the Marketing Suite and Show Apartment, for The Clay Yard development. The concept of the overall development and interior direction was developed by the client team, and therefore already clearly defined. It was our job to then ensure that the Marketing and Show Apartment would reflect these elements, which focussed so heavily on calm and natural living.


Bespoke Interior Design

We changed the plans of the two apartment layouts, which we were given in order to create a separate show apartment and marketing suite area. This meant that the walls which we removed would give space to more structural feature pieces, such as the bespoke display cabinet we designed which doubles as a dividing element between the marketing area and sales agent’s BoH area.

Our challenge was to seamlessly tie together the feeling of the marketing area, with that of the show apartment. A bespoke dividing screen and use of plants created a defined area for a designated sales meeting area. Defined wall finishes and furniture layout created a natural change of flow from the marketing area into the show apartment.

For the interior scheme we made sure to mix bespoke designs with carefully selected off the shelf items. For this we worked with local and UK makers and manufacturers, and kept to a clean and natural selection of furniture pieces by Scandinavian designers and brands. Vintage pieces and artworks further personalised the spaces and gives an authentic feeling of home.
